Design Technologist: San Francisco Office
fuseproject is looking for a Design Technologist to help us prototype next level experiential projects that marry the physical and digital world.>>
As part of our emerging technology team at fuseproject you'll work closely with our design & strategy teams to help us concept and execute on high profile projects for a variety of international clients.
You Are :
- The perfect hybrid between designer & developer with a passion for using your tools to create meaningful experiences.
- Hands on. You love to concept, create and build with your hands
- Passionate about UX and how your work affects the end user experience
- Curious about how things work and the world around you
- A self motivated problem solver with excellent communication skills
You Have :
- 2-3 years experience writing performant Object-Oriented JavaScript
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors Stylus / Less / Sass
- Experience working with some VCS preferably Git
- Experience working with a backend technology such as Node.js / Ruby / Python / PHP
- Experience prototyping with microcontroller platforms such as the Arduino / Beagleboard / Raspberry PI
- An eye for motion, animations and transitions
- An innate desire to learn and share your knowledge with others
Bonus if you have experience with :
- HTML5 Canvas / WebGL / SVG / D3.js
- Cross-browser development and responsive design
- Cross-platform build tools Adobe Air / HaXe / PhoneGap
- Processing / Cinder / OpenFrameworks / VVVV / Unity / Plask / Touch Designer

Industrial Design Intern: San Francisco and New York Offices
The Industrial Design intern's role is primarily to support all areas of design with specific tasks including; document layout and production, research (with image gathering), preparation for presentations.>>
The Industrial Design intern's role is primarily to support all areas of design with specific tasks including; document layout and production, research (with image gathering), preparation for presentations.
Essential Functional duties (most important parts of job): Include such activities as supporting the general needs of the industrial design department, providing backup to all levels of designers (from junior designer to creative director), developing and seeing through design from concept to final deliverables, working with entire industrial design staff on projects and seeking out feedback whenever possible.
Required skills/Experience:
- Senior level industrial design student or recent graduate.
- Excellent at hand sketching, model making and functional mock-ups.
- Working knowledge of 3D software (such as Alias, Solidworks or Rhino).
- Working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Willingness to take direction and learn from others.
- Great positive attitude with an emphasis on self-motivation and a high quality of work.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.

The Strategy Intern will be a fully engaged member of our growing strategy team that helps clients solve critical business challenges, framed by customer insights, competitive advantage, product and brand positioning, and breakthrough thinking.>>
The intern's role within strategy team is primarily to support all areas of design with specific tasks including; document layout and production, research (with image gathering), preparation for presentations.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
- Working directly with strategists, designers and other team members to identify and clarify relevant client business and competitive issues
- Conducting, analyzing, and synthesizing primary and secondary research as a means to develop an actionable point of view for our clients.
- Working with teams of industrial designers, engineers, and graphic designers on the creative product and brand development process within tight timeframes
- Actively participating in creative activities to turn business, customer, and competitive insights into breakthrough new product & brand innovations
- Supporting strategy team members in the development of client-facing presentation documents. (image finding, writing, creating diagrams or other visual materials)
Required skills/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with college-level coursework in design (ID, graphics, architecture), marketing, business, or other related field highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of, interest in and passion for design
- Organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated skill in verbal and visual communications, with a particular emphasis on visual storytelling; strong information design sense is a definite plus
- Analytically-minded, with a the desire and capability to tackle large, complex problems and distill them down to their essence.
- Ability to manage tasks on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint, facility with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and other creative softwares highly desirable.

- High degree of proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop

- Understanding of materials, plastic and metal production processes, quality control and other techniques for manufacturing.

We're looking to build our Client Services team with an experienced Senior Program Manager. The person we're seeking will possess first hand understanding that as a consulting firm, our clients and our team members are the source of our success. Program Managers are the one-stop-shop for all information about their programs in the day to day, there will almost certainly be pop quizzes.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
- Working to manage a smooth project start
- Negotiating scope with clients (with strong involvement from the Managing Partner)
- Coordinating design staff activities
- Representing clients internally
- Creating and managing schedules & deliverables
- Coordinating contractors as needed
- Fostering team morale
- Negotiating with creative leads for resource planning and allocation
- Budget control, cost analysis & communicating such details to the Managing Partner
- Account / Program growth and business development
Required skills/Experience:
