Yves BéharCEO, Founder
Yves is a design entrepreneur who believes that product, digital and brand design are cornerstones of any business. He is the founder of fuseproject, the San Francisco-based design and branding firm he established in 1999. He is also the Co-founder of start-up August, a next generation home entry system.
His other collaborations with renowned partners such as Herman Miller, GE, Puma, PayPal, SodaStream, Samsung, Issey Miyake, Prada and many others have received international acclaim. Béhar’s works are included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide, and he is a frequent speaker on design, sustainability and business topics.
Qin LiVP of Design
Qin Li, VP of Design, leads fuseproject’s industrial design, packaging, and CMF practice. Harnessing her creativity and leadership, she takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to teaming and engaging all the disciplines within a fully informed, thorough, and integrated process. Human-centered experience design serves as the foundation of Qin’s philosophy around how designers can add value, improve quality of life, and address some of the world’s most pressing problems. In her more than fifteen years at fuseproject, she has helped Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, non-profits, and entrepreneurs shepherd designs to market in a number of categories, including AI & robotics, health & wellness, wearable tech, consumer electronics, furniture, packaging & soft goods, among others.
Qin’s work has been honored with global recognition and numerous awards, including Gold and a Special Award from IDSA for the Snoo bassinet and Ori Living, 100 Best Inventions of 2020 from TIME Magazine for a smartbot designed for Embodied, and 2020 Best of Year Award from Interior Design Magazine for the VOX Ventilator. Qin is also the recipient of The 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Academy of Art University.
Ben WhiteVP of Growth and Managing Director
Ben is the VP of Growth and Managing Director of fuseproject, bringing over 20 years of experience building products, teams, content, brands, and companies. He has a long track record of turning big ideas into successful and profitable businesses that connect with new markets and consumers and has held a variety of C-Level and executive roles in creative leadership. He has expertise in product development, content development, editorial, marketing and brand strategy and draws on his diverse experience to help fuseproject and it’s partners unlock greater value in their brands, products, and teams to deliver category leading experiences. Prior to joining fuseproject Ben served as Chief Experience Officer at fintech startup Qapital. He was a Founder of 21212, a venture capital fund and accelerator in Brazil, where he invested and advised 40+ early stage companies. He was Chief Creative Officer at Sling Media, VP of Digital at MTV, and founding Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in-Chief at Complex– which stands today as the #4 online media brand amongst millennials. He hails from Princeton, NJ and has a BA from Brown University.
Logan RayPartner, Strategy
As the partner of the strategy practice, Logan guides and oversees all strategic output of the studio. He is at his best helping client partners untangle complex challenges and construct compelling, actionable strategies for design-led growth and marketplace leadership. During his more than fifteen-year tenure at fuseproject, he has led strategic efforts for a broad range of partners, including Puma, Herman Miller, GE, Jawbone, Nivea, Google, Canal +, Johnson & Johnson, and Louis Vuitton.
Prior to joining fuseproject, Logan led strategic efforts at IDEO and the Arnell Group Innovation Lab, following stints as an architect and rock drummer. He holds a Masters degree in Architecture from Rice University and BA in history from Vassar College.
Carlie DanielsonDirector of Strategy
Carlie leads fuseproject’s strategy practice, guiding her strategy team to instill a human-centered approach to design while keeping user wants and needs top of mind through ideating, design, and execution. She drives the design process and establishes a context that fuels product, brand, experience, and go-to-market solutions on projects across industries that vary in team size, duration, and deliverable.
Carlie has built her career using actionable insights to help clients build solutions that enable growth and success. She has supported and led diverse projects ranging from consumer products, retail, interactive, and packaging for clients such as lululemon, Samsung, Kodak, Sweetgreen, L’Oreal, Diageo, and Sodastream. She holds a Master’s in integrated marketing from Northwestern University.
Thomas MoellerDirector of Experience Design
Thomas is the leader of fuseproject’s experience design practice. For nearly two decades, he has led the design of integrated services and platforms for many of the world’s best known brands – covering a range of domains, from advertising and marketing to physical experiences. Thomas’s career has taken him across many international markets, living and working in LA, Seattle, London, New York and San Francisco. His recent involvement in some of the world’s most innovative automotive brands has seen him deliver award winning work spanning connected car platforms, production in-car HMI interfaces, autonomous vehicle experiences, motor show events, film, photo shoots, integrated campaigns, and numerous car launches. Thomas is highly regarded as a design leader, bringing foresight and rigor to the consideration of design systems and patterns, progressive human-centric experiences, brand meaning and purpose, and quick, agile prototyping to ensure high quality execution and product success.
John BesfordDirector of Brand
John has almost three decades of experience delivering brand design leadership with some of the world’s most successful companies, including Samsung, GE, BBC, Alaskan Airlines, Charles Schwab, NFL and T-Mobile.
At fuseproject, he leads the brand design team and oversees project direction, from concept to launch and beyond. He applies his diverse background of experience in brand strategy, brand identity and brand system development in launching and maintaining brands across multiple channels.
John’s passion for his work is centered around creating simple yet robust ideas and branding that transform the strategic direction of businesses and organizations.
Hardy ChamblissDirector of Client Services
Hardy leads the fuseproject client services team. He met Yves windsurfing back in 2005 and has been with fuseproject since 2007. Though he wears many hats and fulfills many functions at fuse, his technical role as director of clients services is to serve as translator between clients and fuse’s creative team. He sits at the intersection of client vision, design intent and business goals. Among the many clients Hardy has worked with are Jawbone, Canal+, Fan TV, and Activision. He began his career working in boutique ad agencies as a producer, art director, and copywriter, eventually transitioning to the role of Creative Director. He holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing communications from the University of Colorado.
Leah YetkaDirector of Account Management
As Director of Account Management Leah works closely with our client partners to turn business problems into inspiring, design-led solutions. Over the past 15 years, Leah has worked across the technology, finance, fashion, CPG and beauty industries to deliver results for some of the world’s most iconic brands. While at fuse she’s led design and innovation efforts for L’Oreal, Diageo, Intel and Nestle Health Sciences, as well as some notable partners we can’t name and a portfolio of start-up clients.
During her past life in advertising at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Leah partnered with CHANEL, Google+, TD Ameritrade, Intuit, Frito-Lay and Sonic Drive-in. Over the course of her seven years, GSP won Agency of the Year three times, Digital Agency of the Year at Cannes and Agency of the Decade in AdWeek.
Galen MyersVP of Product & Portfolio Strategy
For twenty years, Galen Myers has worked in professional services at the intersection of Business Strategy, Design, and Technology, serving businesses ranging from early stage start-ups to established corporations. Galen has led programs that deliver world-class experiences across multiple touch-points, with a wide focus ranging from business and brand strategy for emerging platforms to interface design and development for mobile, tablet, television, web-based products and services, and wearables.
Throughout his career, Galen has defined and implemented integrated product design and development processes to ensure the creation of products that deliver clear user value and meet business objectives, achieved through rigorous research, the marriage of business strategy with clear user needs, high quality design, and best of breed engineering.
At fuseproject, Galen is the Director of Product and Portfolio Planning, specializing in creating holistic experiences across hardware, software, services and environments, delivering across customer ecosystems, and defining and integrating business, brand and product strategies with a multidisciplinary design-led approach. Prior to fuseproject, Galen was the Principal of Strategy + Innovation at Presence Product Group, leading business design, product strategy, design and development practices. Galen also led product experiences at Jawbone where he brought seven products from ideation to launch within two years.
